Century II
Century II history - HR outsourcing Nashville

Century II was founded in 1985 by Nashville businessman Ross Hickey at time when Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs) were a relatively new concept. Hickey was instrumental in writing legislation in Tennessee that clarified rules that govern the industry in the state.

In 1997, CSM, Inc. acquired Century II and CSM CEO, Marc Fortune, became president and CEO of the firm. Prior to the acquisition, CSM was a Century II client. Then in 2001, Century II established Century II Services, our life and health insurance agency, a wholly owned subsidiary.

That same year, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce presented Century II with the Music City Future 50 Award, which recognizes the 50 fastest-growing small businesses in the Nashville area.  Century II was presented this award for a second consecutive year in 2002.

In 2005, in order to further capitalize the company, Century II merged with Indianapolis, Indiana-based Fortune Diversified Industries as part of its publicly-held PEO division. Century II also reached another milestone--celebrating its 20th Anniversary in November.

2008 brought more changes to Century II, as it became the PEO Division Headquarters for its parent company, Fortune Diversified Industries.
